What's Happening in Myanmar a.k.a Burma?

I am Writing A report on the issues that are occuring In Myanmar, I would appreciate a comment If you know anything.

20 years ago they had a democratic election and elected a woman,, then the military decided to keep power and put her on house arrest and beat down the uprising shooting into crowds.

this past summer the monks lead a protest against the military regime
started by a fuel price increase....
it gathered momentum and thousands protested, again the military beat down the protest.

the world watched and did nothing
