It is very normal and God knows it and will not put you down for thinking that way. Choose faith. Faith is a choice we all must make. It doesn't just happen. We have to work on it daily. Satan will come in and put all kinds of crap in our minds. I feel the same way you do at times and I hate it. God is very mysterious. Keep the faith and trust in God.

It's normal, it's healthy. Rather than try to make the doubts "go away", you should look at them in full light. Why did you believe in the first place? Why do you believe now? Where do your doubts come from? And I don't mean "from the devil", I mean what, specifically, are you doubting?

Talk it over with someone you trust, look at the evidence, and decide for yourself. Remember, Scripture does record God as saying "come, let us reason together". Your doubts are only dangerous as long as you refuse to explore them. Trust God, and go looking.

Oh, and to (I think) the first answerer - were you trying to be funny? "Antediluvian" means "before the Flood".

Even the strongest human will can be tempted to doubt.
This is why we build our foundation on faith. Faith comes from hearing the word. If you build on sand, the house will come down. If you plant your seeds of faith on rocky soil, the seed will be taken away by the birds.
Hold onto your faith and the belief as a child without question.
There is a God and anytime you doubt it, just go outside and look at the stars. Now you and I did not make them and they just didn't get there buy themselves. Don't be down on yourself for doubting but just bring yourself back out of the doubt with trust. When you open yourself up to belief, then God opens himself up to you. There will be those who will try to pull you away by their unbelief and their logic. It is written that in the end times even the elect will have doubts and be deceived. He says to have faith, he will be with you until the very end. It is none but darkness that would steal your faith. There will be those who are used to tempt you. Even friends and family. God says. Be still and know that I am God.

It is possible to know Him in such a way He will become more real to you than anyone else.

Hebrews Chapter 11 possibly verse 5 says that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Just seek him hard and constant for a period of time. Ask Him to make himself so real to you everyone else will seem not real in comparison.

But to answer your question, doubt is a lot like pain. It is not a bad thing, it just gets your attention so you can do some checking.

Have you ever thought back on the times when you found it hard to believe in god to be real? It is not the devil making you do so, but reality checking in on you.

First, you need to differentiate Christians and theists, understand that a christian is not necessarily someone who believes that GOD exists, a christian is someone who repented his sins and believes that Christ is his savior, some "christians" believe that Christ is just a man, so going by the said definition of christian, this type of "christians" are atheists.

There are also christians who consider themselves cultural christians, those who consider themselves belonging to their homegrown religion, but denies GOD existence, in short, they have their religion but do not have GOD to worship, they are still considered christians, and also atheists.

your question is supposed to target theism and not christianity

to answer based on Bible hermeneutics, it is revealed that a believer should not concern about GOD's existence (i think its in 2Timothy), because GOD is beyond existence, what matters is the LIFE that is flowing in you, the Spirit that fills you, that lets you express GOD himself. We may say that there is NO EVIDENCE that GOD exists, but ABSENCE OF EVIDENCE is not EVIDENCE of ABSENCE, yes?

there is no evidence that GOD exists, but there is evidence that GOD is REAL, and this reality is seen from the believers, from christians, like you.

so the question:
would you let GOD die?

Of course Satan tries to plant doubts in everyones mind. I have found the key is to have faith and to remember all of the times that God has helped you in your life. I have found two things that help me to draw closer to God too.
1. Evaluate myself and cut out anything (sins) that may be stopping me from feeling the Holy Ghost.
2. I study the scriptures, pray to God and ask Him to help me repent of my sins through the atonement of Christ, and also ask Him to help me to feel the Holy Ghost.
Then I am just patient and I begin to have my testimony strengthened more.

When you don't have that "feeling" of belief, that is when faith is hardest. But it helps you to realize faith is not a "feeling." It is not an emotion. Faith is a commitment. Faith is love. And neither love nor faith are easy.

Pray. Pray. Pray. Those are my suggestions.

Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta went through these same feelings for a good part of her life, up until her death. She did not have that "feeling" of knowing God was with her. But He always was, and she kept her faith.

Remember God is always with you and your doubt is a cross you bear. Bear it with love and humility. I will be praying for you.

Intriguing you are having doubts about the existence of god so you believe something you should equally doubt is the reason for it.
