I only clip my cats claws if they seem long and are getting caught on stuff. I think sometimes clipping claws just makes them scratch stuff in order get them sharp again.

I clip the claws on both the back and front paws on my kitten. She doesn't deliberately scratch the furniture, but I find when she has sharp claws they tend to catch on the furniture when she is playing. It also makes me less likely to get injured if she starts kicking when I'm playing with her.

It's just a matter of personal preference, clipping claws, front or back, is not a necessity.

I've had lots of cats over the years and have never needed to clip any of their claws, front or back. If you don't think the cat needs her claws clipped, leave her alone.

Not necessarily. If you have problems with the cat scratching the furniture or if when you play with him/her you find their back claws are scratching you, then you might want to trim them. However, only trim, I never recommend the surgical procedure of declawing. Allowing your cat to keep their back claws shouldn't be detrimental in any way, so it's your decision whether or not to trim.

Trust your instincts. I wouldn't cut them, that only seems to encourage the cat to resharpen them anyway.
