Wouldn't you agree? Agnostic people, people who just don't know if there is a god or not, are the smartest. They're not stupid enough to be atheist and conclude there is no god, and they're not stupid enough to be Christian and conclude there is a god.
To sum it up, quite frankly, no one knows, and no one will know until they die. Agnosticism really is the smart way to go.

Lazy? I think not my furry friend! They'd rather just not make a fool of themselves and think they know what they are talking about....cuz basically, you don't! Cheers!

asian, good point. I actually lean that way, so, you know, just in case there is a god....but I don't get crazy with it.

No, it's just that agnostics are not willing to take a side! We don't want to look like an idiot like atheists and christians! Why would you think you know something when you don't?! No one knows, and that's the cold hard truth.

If a person isn't introduced to christianity in his or her lifetime, do you think he's going to hell for it? no! he was, in a sense agnostic, even though he didn't choose it.

No, I disagree. It may feel like the "safest" bet to call yourself that but that doesn't make you smarter.
If Person 1 believes in Santa Clause and Person 2 doesn't, that would make Person 1 a believer and Person 2 an atheist. Person 3, who doesn't know if there is a Santa or not, is not smarter than them. The probability that there isn't a Santa Claus is much more likely than there being a Santa Claus. Just because you can't prove or disprove the existence of Santa Claus that doesn't make the two arguments equally proportionate and it certainly doesn't make the person who is undecided smarter than the other 2.
(Substitute Santa (above) with any of the following words at it works just the same: Zeus, Tooth Fairy, Flying Spaghetti Monster, Christian God).
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Agnostics are "stupid" either. I called myself one not long ago. It's just a safe place of transition for most, and for permanent Agnostics, it's just a milder version of Pascals Wager that keeps them there. In my humble opinion.

I would not argue that religion and intelligence are so easily correlated.
"stupid enough to be atheist and conclude there is no god,"
Oh really? Let's apply this to another culturally based human creation that has no evidence in favor of it:
"stupid enough to be a-smurfist and conclude there are no smurfs hiding in a remote corner of the universe"
"stupid enough to be a-gnomist and conclude there are no invisible underwear gnomes hiding in a remote corner of your closet"
Atheism deals with probability. The probability of a god is not exactly the toss of a coin at 50/50. I think science shows that a personal god involved in human affairs has an exceptionally low probability of existing (one need only look at evolution or the psychological conditioning of religion) that it does not make sense to be agnostic on the issue of religious gods.
I'm not bashing agnosticism -- both Albert Einstein and Carl Sagan were agnostic -- but I do not sit on the fence or give credence to ancient belief systems that call for blind faith. As for the idea of some larger, non-religious god that is impersonal, you will have to define such a thing if you want to know whether or not I consider such an idea to have decent probability -- but I think it is unlikely.

No on the contrary, they are the stupidest of all.
I know there is a God, Atheists know there is not a God, Agnostic's don't know crap. I can respect someone who takes a stand one way or the other but not some twit who can't commit.
When you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice, I think a Atheist would make it into heaven before a Agnostic would.

Faith has nothing to do with intelligence. Proof? Sir Isaac Newton.
You are living by Pascal's Wager. Sorry if I offend you, but according to the Bible, people go to Hell for that. Life, and your soul cannot live by chance; they must live by faith.

No. There are people who are agnostic, apathetic agnostics for example, who are devoid of intellectual curiosity. There are intelligent theists and intelligent atheists as well as intelligent agnostics.

God put the knowledge of himself in our hearts before we are born. The proof of Him is everywhere. So on judgment day, no one will have an excuse.
