Growing up, I had dreams about seeing Jesus on the cross or being around the time of the crucifixation. But it's weird, I never saw the crucifixation just the mob or being nearby but not seeing it. What do you think Christian themed dreams mean?

I haven't had one recently, just when I was young and maybe it was around the time of my "evangelical stage".

When I was going through a very rough time in my life, I had a period of months where I had several intense and unsettling nightmares that involved symbols of Christianity. Unfortunately, they were nightmares and the recurring theme was that I was betrayed by religion or unable to trust it. In one dream I was abused by a priest at the alter and in another by the devil who was disguised as a person. I don't have any negative feelings about Christianity and was, in fact, raised Catholic. I think the Christian symbolism was more a symbolic of feeling very lost and uncertain at that time in my life and feeling like I had no one to turn to or trust, not necessarily that I was against the Christian religion.

So, in regards to your dreams from childhood, I would ask you what was the feeling you had while being in the mob surrounding Christ as he was crucified? What themes from your real life could be linked to what was happening in your dreams? Was something out of control or were you seeking something you weren't able to find?

I think you can find meaning not so much in the actual symbol or happening, but in its relation to the emotions it evokes or how it relates to what is going on in your actual waking life. Christian symbols might have been predominant in your dreams because they were familiar to your mind or because they somehow factored into what was going on with you in childhood. Only you can really interpret your dreams accurately. Good luck.
