reverting back to xp from vista?

how do you revert back to xp from vista if vista was what was originally on your computer ? thanks

you cannot downgrade, therefore you must install windows xp fresh. backup all of your essential files and make sure that you have your program disks and keys to dvd's or an external drive. make sure that the information is there.

install a fresh copy of windows xp! dont forget to download the latest updates and service packs. you will notice superior performance with xp compared to vista.

This is a pretty detailed process to administer here on Yahoo! Answers and explain it to you properly; but I'll make my attempt with hopes that you will not be confused:

Well, first of all, you can't just go back to XP from Vista when Vista is now the controlling operating system on your computers hardrive. You can however, delete the files that you've installed but the only problem is that when you install a more powerful/updated type of software to your computer, you will eventually lose the originally set operating system, drivers, and functionalities of the previous software due to the Vista installation. You can check your Trashbin to see if you still have the original operating system, XP and if you do, you can reinstall it through your Control Panel but normally the more powerful, updated and/or newer version is automatically the one that is replacing the new system which is now Vista; but if you don't you will be unfortunately stuck with the Vista and would have to purchase XP again (either Home Version or Professional), delete the Vista and then install the newly purchased XP onto your hardrive. But if you are not that computer savvy then I would not attempt this on your own because you do have to know a little bit about drivers and the configuration of the operating systems before doing this. It's too technically inclined for me to type the entire process and procedures here on Yahoo! Answers!

this is not an prolonged a technique in any respect. U could have have been given a vista disc, a restoration disc could be. only placed it in and restart the sys. boot from the cd and persist with the setup uptill formatting ur tension with homestead windows in it. (playstation : do take backup of substantial documents) then do away with the vista disc and shipment interior the XP disc and persist with this is setup. Pls make constructive that the xp disc is bootable. this ll get u lower back to XP.

Otheriwse the only other way I know, is you have to format the computer tottally, meaning all data will be lost, so you better backup your files, then you can install XP (it must be not used by any other pc otherwise you will have problems). Also just so you know, if vista was on the computer when you bought it and you install XP, you may end up losing your warrinty on it.

You can't revert back to XP because its not installed. You would have to purchase a copy of Windows XP and install it yourself. Microsoft doesn't want anyone to use XP anymore. They have pulled it from store shelves so you must get it online.
