I would answer that but would be 'flagged' as a violation.

Gangs use to carry chains, baseball bats, knifes and things like that. A few would carry guns and would harldy ever use them. Now every gang member has some kind of gun, They are carrying semi autos, full autos and using them is a badge of honor for them. The violence has increased both in volume and manner in which it is carried out.
I was A sheriff's Deputy and when I went to any call I did so with the understanding that any situation could explode into a life or death situation in seconds. Most Law enforcement officers killed in the US are not killed going into a situation that is called in as a armed suspect. They are killed going to a domestic dispute, a traffic stop. It is over before they even knew it started.
Just think how you would act at your job if you knew when you went to the copy machine that someone might try to shoot you or punch you along the way. How would that change your walk to the copier? Would you just be-bop there on be on guard? and how do you think you would be 1 year later of doing that everyday?
By the way A friend of mine joined the City Police force in the same city we grew up in and I was a Sheriff's Deputy in. He worked the worst area of town, Was an outstanding officer liked by everyone in the Projects he pratroled (on foot) One night he had to chase a drug dealer on foot the guy ended up shooting him. From what they can gather the guy hit him in the stomach with one of the shots knocking him to the ground, then he walked over to him and shot him in the head 3 times. The kid was 16 years old who shot him. My friend left behind a wife and 5 kids.
below you can read about him

I'm not necessarily a big "pro cop" kind of person. I usually take them on a one on one basis. Some are good guys, some are not. Just like the rest of us. But, I think that to answer your question, it might just be that they are getting tired of being shot at by punks and gangstahs in situations that should be routine. A cop got ambushed and killed at a stoplight near my house by a scumbucket who made the cop roll down his window to ask him a question. The cop was on his way home, minding his own business, and had to die for nothing. I think cops are very tired of this kind of incident. And you know what, so am I. I think it's amazing that more cops are not retaliating. Perhaps that says something about the integrity of the group on the whole.

there r alot of people who have no respect for anyone let alone the law, they carry guns, and knives, the police have a lot to deal with, do u watch the news I suggest you do, this world is a dirrerent place than our grandparents grew up in. Plus u have people out there who call the cops for stupid things that can be resolved on their own, they waste the officers time, that tends to make them a little edgy.

Suspects and people who shouldn't get involved starting fighting back. Then there are the people who were betrayed by cops.

Two cops shot today in Philadelphia. One buried last week.
This is what's happened. if it's open season on cops, expect them to be not so calm and nice.

most of them are calm but do we want them to be to calm when we need them alert and ready to react to any given situation? and nice is questionable as long as they are professional

stupid shows like the biased "cops" show, and video games.
when a cop has his BPV on the OUTSIDE of his shirt (like a commando or something) he has issues. But then, most cops don't become cops to be nice to people. They love the authority and control they have that comes with the uniform that they cannot achieve anywhere else.
When was the last time a cop let anyone go on a traffic violation?

They still are. But if you live in Southern Florida, they are a bit on edge as several have been shot in the last month or so....
