I am going to the Oral Surgeon next week to get my 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed. Can someone explain the procedure. Will I be asleep?

You'll be under a general anesthetic, so you will be asleep. Your dentist will remove the 4 teeth, preventing them from continuing to grow. Impacted wisdom teeth not only cause you pain -- they risk causing you to have crooked teeth as they continue to grow, since there isn't enough space in the mouth for them. You won't feel any pain during the procedure, but be prepared to be on ibuprofen, aspirin, or tylenol for at least a week thereafter. Oh yeah, also be prepared to look like a chipmunk for a couple of weeks (your cheeks will swell).

More than likely you will be asleep. More than likely they will need to make an incision around the tooth to remove it which will mean stitches. Sometime the root can hook around the jaw bone and may need drilling. Highly probable in your case.
Either way - DO NOT RINSE FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS AS YOU WILL WASH AWAY THE CLOT AND COULD END UP WITH A DRY SOCKET. Keep the packs in for the first 6 hours, put ice packs on the outside of your face and rest.

I'm sure you will be asleep.

One girl that I saw in the hospital was still asleep when they brought her back to the room. The nurses made her comfortable and put an ice pack around her jaw area to keep the swelling down.

Not to worry, all will be fine.

they will put you to sleep, then they will cut your gums open and take the teeth out, not much to it... to do 2 it takes about 30 min or more to cut them out. so with 4 probably an hour or so...but after the surgrey, my sis got sick from the sleepin med, keep some food in ur stomach, that helps, but not before the surgrey! the pain killers can cause nausea, eat food with the meds
