That people will buy made-in-China "junk" of no value for their kids and ignore the things of real value that their kids really need, for one.

I don't know if I've felt deeply enough about anybody for my heart to be broken in your sense. And if it was, as I guess it may have been once of twice, I probably tried to deny or suppress the feeling, in what may be a typical "guy" fashion. So I don't know if I've learned anything from heartbreak. From my intellectual awareness of death and some of the bad adventures I've had with romance, or at least with lust, I think I've learned to distrust the lure of desire. "Don't want too much, and you won't be hurt too badly" is one of the main lessons I think I find in stoicism and Buddhism, and in a metaphorical sense also in Christianity. Is this exactly the wrong lesson to take away, do you think? What have you learned from heartbreak, since you asked the question?

I must be a dullard. All I know about "Pokemon" was that the collector's cards were pricey for some chacacters. I am a doting grandmother, but I drew the line at the cards. Maybe I should have bought the cards instead of horses. At least the cards wouldn't need fed everyday and have vet bills.

Pikachu is so adorable. I always thought it was kind of screwed up that that dumb kid keeps making them fight for him and then taking all the credit for "training" so hard. Not to mention subduing them so they'll be forced to fight for him. Little punk.
