Buy some baby meat in the little jars like Gerber or Beechnut. Dip your finger in the jar and offer it to him to lick. I bet he will lick it off your finger. Much better than bologna. Bologna is hard for even people to digest.

There is a test for parvo - didn't the vet do it??

Your pup sounds very sick and either you are confused, or your vet did not do what he should have.

Make sure the pup is tested for parvo - hasn't he had his vaccinations yet?

Good luck, try a different vet if this one doesn't help the dog - and don't feed him bologna - try a bit of white meat, boneless, skinless chicken if he won't eat anything else - that is safe. Bologna has far too much salt and fat for a little guy likeyours.

I think you should take him back to the vet if he isn't eating.

And for crying out load, don't give him bologna - of all things...

If he is drinking, a puppy formula would at least give him some nutrition.

But seriously - he may need to be put on an I. V. The vet is where this dog belongs. And I wouldn't wait, if I were you.

The vet gave you good advice & anytime now, she should start acting uncomfortable like pacing, panting & just not able to get comfortable. Once that starts, watch for a bloody show, fluid that gushes & has a reddish tint. That's when she's in labor & you should start seeing puppies soon. Let her get as much food, water & exercise as she wants. Once she starts hard labor, you'll see her stomach contracting & she'll start pushing, try to keep her confined to one area for delivery. Some things you should have on hand are: - a whelping box (somewhere for her to keep the babies after delivery) - small towels to wipe the babies - dental floss to tie off the umbilical cord (tie 2 strings about 1/2 " apart cutting between the knots. This will also help deliver the afterbirth) - sharp scissors to cut the cord - something to clean the mucus away from the puppies noses - scale to weigh them - pen & paper to write down when they were born, sex & weight This will take some time so be patient. Since you probably didn't get an xray done, it'll be hard to know how many there are so you'll have to watch her carefully. And since her milk has not come in yet, you'll need to have milk replacement & syringes or bottles to feed them with. Mom will need alot of food in the coming weeks to feed the babies. Be sure to feed her puppy food (has more fat & calories which she needs), as much as she wants. My poodle went from eating 1/2 cup dry puppy food with 1 container of Ceasers (wet food- lots of protein) to 4 containers each with 1/2 cup puppy dry food mixed in. And sometimes she was eating at the same time her 4 babies were nursing. Contact your vet as soon as she's delivered so they can check her out to be sure all the pups have been born & check the puppies to be sure they're alright. It would also be a good time to check into getting the dew claws removed. They are problems as the nail many times will get caught then rips the fleshy part. Very smart thing to do & not expensive. My vet only charged $5.00 per pup to remove the dew claws & dock their tails. Hope some of this information is helpful. I wish you lots of luck & a bit of advise. Please have her spayed as soon as she weans the pups. Then you won't have to go through this again plus it's better for her.

If the puppy is still not well, go back to the vet before tomorrow.

Don't wait until the vet tells you to come back in if the puppy is still ill.

If dogs are sick - they will not feel like eating or drinking and will become dehydrated like you said. What the vet gave you is not working, so get back there and get it fixed before your poor puppy gets worse.

Good luck.. I hope your puppy makes a full recovery.

A chihuahua pup will get hypoglycemic if he doesn't eat. I can almost guarantee he is hypoglycemic now. That means low blood sugar. You need to get some type of sugar into his body. Honey, karo syrup, sugar water, any kind of syrup to help get his sugar levels up. That can kill a dog quicker than a lot of other things. You need to do that right now. I always tell my puppy buyers to get a tube of NUTRICAL. It is a high calorie vitamin/mineral supplement that you can get from the vet or a pet store. It can be a lifesaver with a hypoglycemic dog. Rub some of the syrup, honey, etc into his gums or give him some sugar water with a syringe if you have it. You can boil some chicken and give him some of that. They will usually eat that when they won't eat anything else. Bologna is bad. Get something with sugar into that pup and see if you can get him to eat something. Good luck with your baby!!!

No vet. Find the nearest Veterinary Hospital. You need a big place with lots of specialists or your guy is not going to make it. And don't wait. We don't know how much time he has.

Get the puppy back to the vet again if he doesn't seem better.

Oh do not feed lunch meat. Believe me I did it and it was a mistake, it made my dogs very sick.

Feed him his kibble.
