Missouri Death Certificates, 1910 – 1956.
http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/

Index is complete for: 1910 - 1956
Images are available for: 1910 - 1938 and 1945 - 1956

The certificates provide lots of clues. Even if the person you are looking for isn't included, a parent, child or sibling might be here.

www.ancestry.com is the place to go, I am in the UK but there has been a few questions similar to yours, and there is a usual answer that comes up , that you can access www.ancestry.com at your library ?.
I hope this helps you.
