messenger 8 seems not to be compatible with vista in my computer....?

My explorer keeps shutting down after I install messenger 8 in my computer,I have re-install,I have clicked on "allow to run" due to vista security fire walls and it still meeses up my explorer and it shuts it down automatically and tries to open it up again and it does not work....any help greatly appreciated!!

I don't know a lot about Vista, or computers in general, but when I bought a new computer, it came with Vista already installed. I would have preferred Windows XP. However, I found that a lot of my older programs would not run on Vista (I had Windows 98 on my old computer. So what I had to do was go to the websites of these programs and download the driver for my new operating system to upgrade the program to run on Vista. I had to do that for my printer and my digital camera, and for several games. I don't know if this will work with Messenger 8, (I'm not sure what Messenger 8 is), but you might try that and see if it works. Good luck!
