Will boot camp change you a lot, into some overconfident asshole and think your better than everyone else. I'm joining to become a stronger a person, but don't want to loose the chilled out self that i am. I don't want to be those people who think they are better than everyone else because i believe we are all the same person no matter what. Will that belief change? I don't want to be someone who causes fights with everyone just because he thinks he is important and tough. I see myself just as a form protector of society. Will boot camp cause me to have bad overconfident qualities and change beliefs like, "we are all the same person"
I look at this we are all the same person, but sometimes we gotta do what we gotta to PROTECT our nation.

Yes it will change you, period, you are only overconfident if you can't back it up, everyone is not the same (you will learn that in "boot camp".) If you cause fights it won't be because you think you are important and tough it will be because you like to fight. In the navy you probably don't need to worry about doing much fighting anyway (except SEALS, Hats off to you guys), unless you are fighting to get to the front of the chow line. If you are struggling with it that much, quit worrying about it and go to college. Judging by what you have said you would be happier there anyway. BUT, if you decide not to join, you will have to live with that decision for the rest of your life.

It depends on you. Most come out a better person but there are always bad apples.I know a lot of people that are in the military and most are good respectable people but there are a few that are just worthless. They joined because they thought it would make them a badass and no other reason. Now all they do is ***** about being in the military, something I see far to much of.People who complain about being in the military dont deserve the label of soldier.

I'm in the army, not navy, so it's not exactly the same buuuuut.....basic and the military in general do change you some. I remember going back home and seeing old friends doing the same old **** and throwing their lives away and I thought they were dumb for it so in that sense I changed. But I never really lost my personality. What really changes you is combat....I've been trying to get my old self back for a year now.

You will finish boot camp, return home and probably wonder if you were that guy who hung around with those people before you went into the Navy and why you did that.
Just don't swagger. Accept that you have changed, your life has changed and let it go at that.

Nah, it did no longer thoroughly exchange my husband different than them putting ridiculous issues in his head approximately how the army truly is. I come from a army kinfolk and had to consistently tell him that's no longer how that's, he finally stumbled on that out after his colleges and such and finally have been given into the "actual" army. different than that, he's the comparable ole' guy I married.

No, you are only cocky if you go in that way. They will make you more confident a better leader and train you to be of service to your country.
