Most Satanists are actually atheists, they just have a flair for the dramatic.
Satanists who actually believe in Satan generally think of YHWH as the evil one because he used his superior powers to force all lower beings to worship him or face his wrath. I dont actually know of any Satanists who believe in his actual existence, though.

Actually, most Satanists don't believe in Satan. So they would not have to admit to anything. I am re-posting an answer to a question about Satanism I asked a while ago.
It depends on what kind of Satanist.
Modern Satanists, also known as LaVeyian Satanists, are more like atheists. They don't worship Satan or believe in any god but themselves. They hold the self to be sacred and indulgence to be the highest law, while following the 11 Satanic Rules of the Earth and holding to the 9 Satanic Statements first outlined by Anton LaVey in "The Satanic Bible", published in the 1960s. At the same time the Church of Satan was formed. It's not a real church per se but more like just an organization of like-minded individuals all holding to LaVey's philosophy.
Theistic Satanists, sometimes erroneously called Traditional Satanists, do worship a being they call Satan. Other than that they are not much different in philosophy from the LaVeyians.
There are many other sub branches within Satanism but those are the main ones.

Here it is in a nutshell.
Satanists would tell you it's the "worship of the self". Most people who identify themselves as Satanists are the "LaVeyian" variety. Anton LaVey was a liar, fraud, bankrupt wife beating pimp. BTW, one idiot actually had the nerve to say "Everyone beat their wife in the fifties" when informed of this (even though he beat his common law wife Diane from the 60's into the 80's). And no, not everyone did, and it was still wrong.
This shows that rather than standing on their own two feet, Satanists slavishly make excuses for their cult figure, not unlike they way Scientologists do fo L. Ron Hubbard.
LaVey was approached by Avon books to write a book on witchcraft to cash in on the occult craze of the 1960's. He cobbled together "The Satanic Bible" from a forgotten right-wing political tract (where much of the material from the Book of Satan comes from), Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, and the superstitous occult material of John Dee.
LaVey never really seemed to know what Satanism was himself. Some of his writings seemed atheistic, at other times he called Satan "the dark side of nature" and often refers to Satan as a personification. One thing is for certian, the Satanic Bible gives specific instructions on timing, tools to be used, specific rituals for sex spells, revenge spells, etc. (The Book of Belial), and it seemed he expected results.
Eventually, people realized the spells didn't work, and so began the whole "Well, it's really a philosophy" excuse. In the 1980's, when LaVey was living in poverty he then claimed he was shunning consumer materialism ( a complete role reversal from "Indulgence instead of abstinence!") ala Pee Wee Herman's "I meant to do that!"
LaVey claimed that nuts were given "the bum's rush" when trying to join the Church of Satan, but clearly nut was in the eye of the beholder. LaVey has admited to holding a "Cannibal feast" of a human leg in at least 3 books. The Satanic Bible & Satanic Rituals certainly describe many things most normal people would consider pychotic such as Nude girl is used as an altar (Satanic Bible, Satanic Rituals)A human skull is used in Die Elektrischen Vorspiele ritual (Satanic Rituals, p. 109) Human leg bone or arm bone is used in Homage to Tchort ritual (p.137)
Woman dressed as nun urinates before group into a bedpan in the Black Mass ritual (p.43) Urine is then sprinkled like holy water (p.44) Man climbs into coffin with nude woman (or nude man if he is gay) in Le Epais ritual (p.59).
As a "philosophy", Satanism could be boiled down to hedonism, which was hardly a new idea in the 1960's. Oddly enough, most Satanists don't fit the bill as swingers. Some seem to lead fairly uneventful lives. Here's an example:
"I've been forced to give up coffee - the acid was responsible for a minor ulcer and I can no longer take any chances with my health. This was my solitary vice - now it is gone. I do not drink, do not smoke, do not use recreational drugs and have nothing remotely resembling a sex life!"
--"Lord" Egan of "The First Church of Satan"
Wow! What a swinger! So then the picture begins to develop that Satanism is not so much a philosophy of life as it is a fantasy; a means to escape a life not worth living.

There are 2 types of Satanists that I know of:
One is atheist and view Satan as some sort of vital principle, blah blah blah, yada yada yada, whatever......
The other type actually worship a deity of Satan. They are called Theistic Satanists, and usually can't stand LeVeyan Satanism.
Satanism and Wicca are two very separate things, BTW.

As a Pagan, my definition of a Satanist is "an angry Christian". It's two sides of one coin, and you have to buy the whole story to ally yourself with half of it.
There are some people who call themselves Satanists who really just worship the self. The problem is that when someone uses that label, they've set themselves up in opposition to most of the world. Most Satanists I have encountered were sociopaths, but that's just my experience.
I'd rather hang out with people who honor their connection to life than those who resent it or those who fear it.

Who says Satan is the evil one?
There are lots and lots of stories of God killing people--the entire world, at one point---and torturing them, imprisoning them, punishing them for the slightest infraction.
How many stories are there of Satan doing equally horrible things?

Satanists do not worship Satan. They do not even believe he exists. Satanism is basically the worship of "self". They believe that nothing should prohibit one from indulging in the desires of one's heart/mind/body.
Brightest Blessings

They may crave power and hope to gain it through Satanism. They have bought into the deception of Satan. 2 Cor. 11:14 says that Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. If curious, you may want to read a book by Mike Warnke called THE SATAN SELLER. He was a Satanic priest and later became a Christian. We have the victory through Jesus. Satan is the the wrong team and knows it, but wants to pull as many as he can down with him.

There are two types of Satanists - those who follow Anton LaVey's mindset that there is nothing after death and there are no deities. A humanist view.
The second are devil worshipers: these can be described as anti-Christians in that they believe in the christian concept of Satan and the devil.
