Thomas new Jesus intimately but still demanded proof. I neither know him intimately, nor did I get the same proof as Thomas did. If one of his followers distrusted how can one who is not a follower be slighted for demanding the same proof?

Haven't you ever heard the saying "Be careful of what you ask for, you just may get it"? The same is true of prayer. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all you ask will be given unto you..." Study the prophetic books of the Bible and compare it to world news of both today and in history. Then, remember that the Bible was written about 2,000 years ago. Strange, isn't it, that Jesus was the ONLY person in all history that fulfilled ALL the prophesied criteria of the Savior, Son of God? It's historical fact. Much of the text of the Bible has been confirmed in the Dead Sea Scrolls. If you ingest hemlock and don't think it will hurt you, will you still get sick or die? I've never saw my appendix, but when I developed acute appendicitis and almost died, I knew there was such a thing. A baby doesn't know about bowels, bladder, kidneys and stomach; that baby doesn't see it, but when that baby dirties the diaper or cries for food, it knows something needs to be done.

It's difficult for me to believe that people don't have any faith or that they can seek all their answers in the Scriptures regarding the validity of the Lord. I can't say that I know Christ intimately, but I do have a personal relationship with Him. I hope you find Him before it's too late. May He bless you.

Because it wouldn't make a difference anyway. Many believed and some didn't believe even when Jesus was doing miracles right in front of them.

Jesus said:

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed" in John 20.

If you want proof ask God for it. Jesus left and now we have the Holy Spirit. The proof has already come and returned. I don't know what else he could do as proof.

Romans 8:16
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

Then it would not be faith.

There are few honest people that will admit they have doubts. Christians can be overzealous by wondering how others can't seem to find the same faith tht they NOW have in Jesus.

Many forget they weren't always Christians. That makes it difficult for those struggling with their faith to accept the sincerety (and they are sincere) of Christians trying to explain why they believe the things we do. But we do know that one who truly wants to know Jesus, will find him.

Psalms 34:18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

You don't even have to know how to pray. Just get on your knees and you can even say "Jesus, here I am. How can I find out if you're really there or not? " Don't be surprised if you get a response.

In Thomas/ Jesus time, they did not have the entire scripture to look at and examine. We are blessed because we do have the entire scriptures to look at and dissect and decide what is truth. They required more physical proof because many of the prophesies were not yet fulfilled, we can look back at scripture and see how the prophesies have been filled. Giving us proof, but a different type of proof of God's existence.

Thomas wanted to know it was really Jesus
you want your doubt and unbelief erased
the only way is to go to the word and look up things you don't believe in and say Lord I believe help my unbelief

Joh 20:27 Then He said to Thomas, Bring your finger here and see My hands, and bring your hand and thrust into My side, and be not unbelieving, but believing.
Joh 20:28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God!
Joh 20:29 Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, Thomas, you have believed. Blessed are the ones not seeing, and believing.

I would like to be counted among the blessed, wouldn't you?

It's all about faith. God uses the world to separate the faithful sheep from the unfaithful goats.

Are you a sheep or a goat?

Jhn 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.

==========

Mat 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

I believe the "proof" Thomas got was to stick his hand inside Jesus's wound? Well... he's been dead for 2000 years. That would be just... gross.

You compare apples and oranges. Thomas didn't need proof that Jesus existed or that He was the Son of God, Thomas wanted proof that the dead Jesus was now alive.

You want proof He existed and is the Son of God. Different proof, eh?
