I am looking at the Fujifilm S700 model. I really like the features. I like that it has a resistance to vibrations and movements and allows pictures that may be in movement become clear. Is there a camera like this one that you would recommend? I do not like this one because it takes AA as a power supply. I do not want to spend more than $250. I take a lot of pictures. A lot of the pictures are landscape, nature, and then of course the usual hanging with friends, concerts ect...

Fujifilm from what I hear makes a pretty nice camera. I personally have never used one but a friend of mine has one and she loves it. If you aren't sold on that model I would suggest checking out Canon and Sony. I would avoid nikon, HP and polaroid as none of them make a very good point and shoot. Canon will offer you the best picture quality and arguably best bang for your buck. Sony has mastered the "steady shot" which sounds like one of the most important features to you. This will help keep your images clear even if your hand is a little shaky. Not to mention the images are usually solid from Sony as well. Again I cant really comment to much on the fujifilm since I have never touched one but I hear good things so between Fuji, Canon, and sony you should have not problem finding a winner. Good Luck

From what I am reading the Leica M8 is the best Digital camera out now with the newest technology not that I am biased or anything but you said the best. Well everyone I talk to says the best is the M8. Then again the body alone is over 4 grand so that would be more then your price range.
I bought my wife a Nikon pocket camera for on the go and well for around 200 bucks it takes good shots.

SLR are professional grade "film" cameras. You can add color and warmth into digital photos if they seem washed out with software like photoshop or something free like Gimp. I have a Canon digital Elph camera with 3X optical zoom. It's lasted me a long time and takes amazing photos. Be sure to get one with anti-blur. That will mess up more photos than anything else. Most of the point and shoot digital cameras out there will be more than enough Megapixels (8-10+).

I don't know why you don't like AA batteries. That is the most versatile way of powering a camera. You can get rechargeables and use them over and over. And if you should be someplace and your batteries run down, you can buy AAs anyplace.
Just don't get a camera that you have to plug the whole camera in to charge. Too much can go wrong, and then your camera is ruined.
I would also get one that also has a viewfinder, because some displays are very hard to see in sunlight.

Check out Canon digicams. I have a Powershot S3 IS and paid $350 at Walmart. It takes awsome pix and has 12x zoom plus all the other stuff you mentioned. There's also a website called Digital Camera HQ where you can find all kinds of info on all kinds of cameras by people who own them.
