Get a study guide. The board isn't that bad. Take a deep breath and relax. If you don't know something just say you don't recall the answer at this time and move on. They will give you a chance to re answer it at the end if it comes back to you. You probably know more than you realize so don't stress. If you got recommended that means your chain of command thinks you are ready so you will do fine.
The biggest thing should be your speech when they ask to tell a little something about yourself. Practice. Ask your chain of command to do a mock board and they will be able to provide the best tips for facing movement etc. and they can make sure your uniform it ready. Good luck.

Mostly, show them your ready to lead.
Don't get nervous, remember, promotion boards are dog and pony shows. If you handle yourself in a professional manner, you'll impress them, even if you don't answer all the questions correctly.
Try to know the material on the study list, it's usually chosen for a reason important to the board.
Read the papers and the news group, watch as much world news as you can and read the periodicals for your branch. (Army Times, Stars and Stripes) Be ready to answer questions about whats going on in the world and who's responsibly.
NCO Creed, Warriors creed, General Orders, have your friends drill you, ask your squad leader. If you don't do well, it makes him look bad too, so I'm sure he'll be glad to help, ask your platoon sergeant too, he may have some tips, as will your 1st sergeant, they all have an interest in seeing you do well, and they've been through it. Your about to enter the NCO club and we help each other on a professional level.
Just remember, it's about getting your people taken care of, they do the actual fighting, you just make sure they have what they need to do it. You get them ready, you set the example, and you lead them there. You keep the chain informed. An uninformed Chain makes bad decisions for you, an informed one makes better decisions.

Get the study guide from the PX or ask your Platoon Sergeant.
Read several newspapers every day between now and the board. Stars & Stripes, USA Today and your local rag. At least the 'A' section with the news, you don't need the cooking, entertainment and celebraty news.
Get your uniform PERFECT. Make sure evey award you have in your file is on your chest. Make sure your hash marks are up to date. Make sure there is no trash or little threads or fibers hanging on.
Practice your moves until they are crisp. Get a buddy to observe you entering, saluting and leaving a room until you can do it perfectly in your sleep.
Ask you Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant for help -- they want you to succeed or they wouldn't be sending you to the board.
Good Luck!

Be confident in yourself, and don't trip if you know/think you made a mistake.
When Dh was on the USMC Cpl board, they where given instructions on how to leave the room. Everyone else turned the wrong way, then slunk out. DH started to turn wrong, corrected, and maintained his bearing till he had left the room. They moved him on to the next board because of this. Simple things can sometimes be the deciding factor when people are matched.
Good Luck!

Wow you've got 2 weeks more than I had.
Stop and think, Read the manuals for things like leadership like they were a novel.
See if your sergeants won't fire questions at you.
As a Platoon Sergeant I used to have practice boards in the platoon office.
Best of luck to you soldier.

get a study guide and find a study partner. find out what subjects are being covered on the board and identify what your weakest subjects are. concentrate on those and brush up on those subject on which you are stronger on. and if you don't know what to do in a board then get with someone in your unit that knows what to do. because it's really hard to explain what to do you have to see it.

Be calm, remember that those guys put their pants on one leg at a time, just like you (unless you sit on your bed and put both legs in at the same time...they do that too lol) Dont be all nervous, they can sense that.
Have an outstanding ERB, make sure its all up to date, with all your awards, and duty position
I recommend that you learn the Creed of the Non Commisioned officer, it will blow them away. Good luck and study!

Not really. When I went, they asked me about things in the news paper to see if I was up with current events.
Other than that, study well.
