Be hard to ride on vegatable oil however you try riding a carrot? All make conversion kits I have two diesels run bio little cheaper, the vegatable oil I hear is hard on the filters check first if savings vrs cost of filters worth it! Most conversions are about $1500 or so check deeply before doing! Most diesel mechanis will know about this, might be wiser to form a group of people and make bio-diesel on the cheap if you can get it together.

draw back #a million--in case you like to run in chilly climate (under 40F) you will want a 2d, heated gasoline tank, and you will nonetheless ought to start on genuine diesel or biodiesel. the two-tank deploy expenditures a pair thousand funds, perhaps some hundred in case you're able to do all the fabrication your self. draw back #2--you should assemble the waste oil. meaning dealing with messy gunk, and additionally dealing with eating place managers who could or would possibly not care. Pumps and storage packing containers are not loose the two. draw back #3--you should clear out it, or it is going to gum up your injection pump (it rather is significant injury). Filters are not loose. draw back #4--there are skill hassles with the line tax. In some international places it rather is actual unlawful, and no telling what your interior sight government will do with the subject throughout the subsequent quite a few years. Upside: The gasoline is largely loose, and lots nearer to carbon-impartial. WVO automobiles often run smoother and quieter, besides as probably cleanser.

There are KITS that will do just that. Basically, you are starting your engine with diesel fuel, once warmed up, switch to veg oil, then switch back to diesel before shutting off.
Try looking them up on web search engine. I would not be surprised, if professional mechanic refused to help you with installations for fear of liability issues. All you can do is to find those kits, print out the details and start calling and visiting local independent mechanics.

Here is a thing to ponder before you do that....
The vegetable oil gels at freezing and unless you run dual or a great electric heater.. it isn't gonna save you any real money unless you can get the oil for free...

I believe one of the other posters is correct in that there are little or no mechanical modifications, and that the real work is refining the fuel.

Wouldn't it make a difference to you where the mechanic is? I'd feel silly posting anybody's name here anyway, even if I did know where you were.

No conversion necessary for the engine - but the oil will need to be treated before it can be used as biodiesel.

Read the article, and maybe join their forums and ask if there's any conversion companies in your area.
