Watching the birds fly, then building model planes, then flying model planes.... up to flying real planes...
Don't know when the bug hit, seem to have been infected ever since I could remember....
Kinda like a drug, except of course, much more expensive than drugs....and the high is thousands of feet higher too...only good for one fill up at a time though, then the lows when you come back down and have to preflight all over again...
Bummer.....

Probably watching the RAF flying low up the west coast of Scotland in the mid sixties as a 4 year old. I wanted to see what they did and go where they went. Summer in a low flying training area. My favorite toy as a small kid was an Eglish Electric Lightning.

my father was a barnstormer in the 20's in Kansas, but then worked for American Airlines as a supervisor in the 40's to early 80's. He just always loved flying and as a little girl I did too, although I was scared. He passed away 17 years ago, and now my boyfriend of many years is a corporate pilot in smaller planes. I love it and am not scared at all any more.

As far back as I can remember I have had the flying bug. It really peaked though while I was serving in the miltary. Since being discharged I have been looking around in my area for some heli flight schools.

Never got the bug and have only flown out of necessity. Most of the time I fell asleep as the plane was taking off.
