I am defining tolerance as follows:
Someone who is religiously tolerant has their religious or spiritual beliefs (or lack there of), and accepts the fact that other people may have different beliefs. A religiously tolerant person practices their beliefs but does not try to recruit others and does not condemn others for not sharing in those beliefs. Why is this wrong?

A religiously tollerent will give their opinion on religions or their own personal beliefs, but only when asked.

I will never claim to know the truth about religion. However, in recorded and unrecorded history, there is one undenyable truth. The blood spilt solely for land or title would be just a drop in a bucket, when you compare it to the rivers that have been spilt in the name of a God. I wonder how many souls would be saved if we were a little more religiously tollerant.

It isn't. The most intolerant in my experience are fundies and atheists.

If everyone were religeously tolerant, no one would ever know the truth. So many different religeons. Someone is being lied to.

Also, I dont' think religeous tolerance would be such a problem if people could stuff thier pride every once in a while

i'm a Christian and that i've got not got a difficulty with somebody only because of the fact they have a diverse faith than me. each and every person has freedom of religion. And the place interior the Bible does it say you may no longer settle for somebody because of the fact they have diverse religious perspectives as you? we are meant to tolerate and love each and every person in spite of religion or the rest.

It's not really wrong actually, and it's protected by the 1st Amendment of Freedom of Religion as long as you do it privately because a lot of people don't accept or like it.

Jesus said to go out and make disciples of all nations. No, we are not to sit back and let people think there are "many ways to God". There isn't. There is one way to God, by faith in Christ.

That being said, I don't walk around telling people they are going to hell. But any biblically literate person knows that if a person does not repent of their sins and accept Christ as savior, they will not see the kingdom of heaven.

I take that seriously, as should every Christian. People have the right to believe what they choose. That is why I believe the words of Jesus Christ, that He is the way, the truth and the life.

you can not be tolerant as you say, when the truth is suppressed and men and women will perish in hell

that is wrong to do this

You can't be religiously tolerant for intolerant religions. Christianity apparently doesn't tolerate scientific progression, so I refuse to tolerate a religion that hampers the progress of society and humanity.

I don't believe it's wrong to be tolerant. I have the truth for ME; I don't claim to have it for anybody else, and would not presume to say that I do.

Have we established that it is wrong?

Let's do that first, and then look at causality.

it's only wrong to those that are close-minded and subconciously sensitive of their own mindset.....
