the bing. crosby is very good, but also very immature and whiney and will get little respect until that part of his game is honed.

I am going to get a lot of negative feedback but I'll say Luongo... he is very good BUT he has only gone to the playoffs once (and not deep) and everyone talks about him like he is the messiah... his numbers are good over the last few years but not different from 15 other goaltendrs in the league... He is an elite goaltender but he hasn't deserved the hype until he has outshined other elite goalies. The one play off series he won was a duel and Turco was better in that series... lack of goal production killed Dallas, not Luongo.

That is easily Sidney Crosby. Nothing against him it isn't his fault that SOME folks act like he has already realized the expectations that they put on him.
I will call him the greatest when he earns it - not because a lot of people say he is. And that has absolutely nothing to do with the jersey that he wears. If it did, I would not admire Wayne Gretzky or Mario Lemieux or have made countless compliments of them even though they never played for the Flyers.

Bring on the Crosby haters!!! I am with you my bretheren. He is the most overhyped player because there does not appear to be any real effort to hype any other player.

I would have to say in my opinion Chris Drury and Gomez. I know it will take some time for them to get going but they are not playing for their money right now. I would have to say that the Rangers team as a whole is overrated.

The Minnesota Wild... err... sorry, you said NHL player not team... I'd say Crosby. He's an incredible talent no doubt, but comparisons to Gretzky and other greats are really far too premature.
