Lots of answers from people outside these islands!

The most quintessentially English dish is the roast beef dinner, with Yorkshire pudding.

Many dishes are regional, such as London's bangers and mash, or pie and mash, jellied eels, steak and kidney pudding.......

Here in the north, lamb, beef and pork are the most popular meats, along with black puddings (Germans call them "blood sausage") and fish - cod, plaice, skate, hake, haddock, John Dory, monkfish, flounder, salmon, sea bass, sea bream.

Northern European is lacking in exotic spices due to the climate and relies on smoking and saltng for flavour.

Honestly, the most British dish these days is actually chicken tikka masala. Although it's served mainly in Indian restaurants, it's unknown outside Britain - it was specially designed to appeal to British tastes. But it is Britain's most popular dish these days.

there are loads of common foods here in england like roast beef and yorkshire puddings, hot pot, fish and chips, english breakfast (fry up), but you can't beat a nice plate of pie and mash with licour sauce mostly found in the east end of london

I believe that it is fish and chips. That is very popular over there. It is usually greasy and not really healthy, so you can always have English tea as a better alternative.

it doesnt matter. it's all pretty boring food. lots of meat, potatoes, cabbage, and breaded everything including pudding. it's the worst food anywhere.

bangers are popular, but they're this disgusting breaded bland meat in a sausage tube. ick

fish and chips are even worse. it used to be the wonderful Dover Sole until it was over fished. Now its some bland fish like flounder and french fries that are under cooked and soggy from grease.

I hope you like beer!!

Try the plowmans lunch. it's the least offensive of the group.
