Well yes he did go by the Christian ideal of charity but on the other hand, those rich people didn't give up their belonging freely.

Robin Hood is obviously a socialist.

The story of Robin of Loxley is based upon a real person. As with many good stories (see the bible for examples) they become changed and exaggerated for effect over time. There is some evidence to suggest that Robin was NOT as charitable as the later versions of his life would attest. He was probably a Robin Bastard who got away with it and was made into a heroic figure because of the particular circumstances at the time, where the serfs saw him as a hero because he thwarted the intentions of the dominating ruling class and didn't interfere in their sad lives.
Jesse James became such a figure in the Old West. Same thing.
I doubt that religion had anything to do with anything - as it should be.

I don't think so. Although he gave some of his belonging to the poor but those belongings are not really his own. A thief is always be a thief. Although you only steal a little thing but that's all the same.

I dont think robin hood was a christian...who told you that? If he was chrisitian, I think his priorities were out of order. Shouldn't he have been a friar or something rather than a thief?
