Girl I went to Army bootcamp when I was 17 yrs old. Ft Leonard Wood, MO. Honestly it was the best time I've had in the Army. I still talk to my good friends who were in my platoon. I won't lie, it's as easy as you make it. Go with the flow you'll love basic training.

I'm not a girl but I am a retired Army Sergeant.

Boot camp is set up to get you ready to serve in the Army.

It is meant to weed out those who cannot physically or mentally adapt.

Its tough, but when you get through it you will know that you have not only gotten into better physical shape but you are also mentally tougher than ever also.

There is nothing that is going to permanently hurt you, You will feel some pain as you do the exercises and the drills. But it only builds you up.

And after training is over its all maintenance.

Stand proud and listen to every word the sergeants say and you will be fine.

Why would you be considering the Army when the Air Force provides a better quality of life. Seriously, unless they have already refused you I'd check out that option quick fast and in a hurry. Then you would not be shaking in your shoes right now sweating boot camp. That's for Sure

I went thru a few years back and it isn't that bad. Trust me everyone is confused for the first week or so. You won't be alone. Time kinda flies by since you are so busy and at the end of the day you want to sleep. Just learn to eat fast, shower fast and prepare for the PT test now.

To be honest, I thought it was a huge mistake when I first got there, then I thought it sucked half way through. At the end, I felt it wasn't all that bad and was ready to do it again. My Basic was 18 weeks long due to being combined with AIT, so I had lots of time to do push-ups and become better.

It's not terribly hard, run two miles, pushups situps, it is rough but well worth it. Know your army values, find a PT score chart with your age and get into shape.
