Lately, I have been thinking a lot. I think I may have depression, or something along those lines. I have had this feeling of guilt and sadness, and it never goes away. I have been getting irritable with my boyfriend so easily, and then a few minutes later I regret it and act all sweet. I have been thinking about comiting suicide, and yea, I do feel worthless sometimes. One of my friends gave me a massage today and said I felt really stressed and stiff. I don't know if I even have anything. I don't want to go to a docter because I don't like talking conselors and people like that. Any advice?
I'm so confused.

You seem to be depressed, or at least have problems that needs to be resolved. However, by saying you don't want to go to doctors or talk to counselors, you are basically saying you don't want to make an effort to correct yourself.

You just ruled yourself out of some of the most powerful tools for your problem. There is no easy way to fix this. If you don't want to make an effort, then, what are you looking for? A magic word or spell? A big pill you can swallow? Think about what you just said....

By the way, good counselors and psychologists do not tell you what to do or how to live your life. They will help you understand your own problem and help you come to your own resolution. You see... most people already know what their problems are, and how they can fix them. The problem is, when the trouble is yours, all the feeling gets in the way and make it nearly impossible to see your own solution. Notice, how easy it is to help someone else than to help yourself?

My advise to you is to go to a good psychologist.

Dear Campbell....I didn´t want to go to a counselor because I didn´t like it. I went and it helped a lot. Now I feel sooo good everytime I go. You get the chance to talk and get things off your chest, organize ideas, etc. Your symptoms: sadness, irritable, ideas about suicide, feelings of worthlessness are signs of depression. It´s so important that you treat it as soon as possible because it can get worse as time goes by. Depression is a real disease caused by an imbalance in brain neurotrasmiters. It can be treated with antidepressants such as cymbalta that diminishes the symptoms. Acupuncture is also excelent. Argentox2@yahoo.com

Your first mistake is saying you don't want to talk to somebody. Lok up the statistics as millions upon millions of people suffer from some form of depression. It is not uncommon and you shouldn't feel ashamed. If you want it to get better you need to talk to a doctor who can get you on a prescription, again this is normal. Let's put it this way; if you think it will just disappear and you do have depression than you are mistaking again. It is alright to get help. "Lose your cool card" and talk to a dr or parent.

well, guess what, you are talking to someone here... it is just anonymous and with out any accountability. then, from that, you get nothing. no recovery.

do you REALLY want to feel better?

get out your local yellow pages and call a counselor and make an appointment for tomorrow. if money is an issue discuss this when you make your appointment and tell them you need a sliding scale.

or you can continue to suffer. i hope you dont.

as to suicide: if you have plans and a way to carry it out, call 911 NOW, IMMEDIATELY, DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200. Call 911 NOW.

best wishes!

Depression doesn't go away by just ignoring it. Just go to your doctor and tell her how you feel She can determine if it is depression or maybe something like diabetes. Do something--don't ignore it. It will just get worse

Yeah, definately

You can try self help techniques (check out some books, etc) and herbal remedies if you want to stay away from doctors.
