Okay I posted earlier but have one more question. Just because my throat glands are sore and I have a high count of white blood cells, does this mean I have blood cancer? Wouldn't the Doctor be alarmed and send me to the ER etc? I always thought that your white blood cell count goes up when you are sick etc. I had mono when I was 15 and I am now 25 and I feel the same things: fatigue, I eat poor at times and sleep 5 hours a night..As well as my throat is swollen but not like strep throat. I am reading that people fear luekemia just because of there cell count?

It means that your body is trying to fight an infection. Our bodies do this to try to protect us.

Probably not. Your white cell count will go up with any type of infection or inflammation. Leukemia ("blood cancer") would involve a MUCH higher white count that would definately alarm your doctor. Also, the lab techs would do a diff on a count that high and be able to visually detect the abnormal cells. And since you know you had mono before, it may help for me to mention that you can relapse with mono in times of stress. Your sore throat also indicates some sort of infection- not cancer.

There are many health conditions that cause symptoms that overlap one over the other. To undertake your own prognosis, it is a good idea to systematically identify all the conditions that cause the symptoms you experience. Next, narrow down the conditions by evaluating other symptoms for each condition and determine if they manifest in your health.

For example, if you view the symptoms of Radiation Therapy for cancer treatment, using the link provided in "Source(s)" identify if you are experiencing other symptoms listed in that link. Say a large number of symptoms match what you personally experience, then ask your doctor to conduct "Dicentric Chromosome Analysis" and "Chromosome Translocation Analysis" to determine short-term and long-term effects of excessive exposure to ionizing radiation like X-Ray.

When you have a short-list of conditions based on your research, as already advised seek more than one doctor's opinion.

One health condition at a time, more likely than not you will find the root-cause.
