If my husband owes, will they take my taxes if we file together? We are newly weds and this is a debt from his taxes from last year. Should I file married, but separate?

You can either file as married filing separately, or file a joint return but file an injured spouse form which will mean they'll just take his share of the refund, the part attributable to his income, not yours.

If you have a refund on a joint return, it will be offset to what he owes. You can file an injured spouse request to get a refund of the part attributable to your contributions.
