Regular saline solution can be used to rinse your lenses before insertion or to rub and rinse before storage but cannot be used for overnight storage.

Saline solution does not contain disinfectants. If you use it for storage your contacts may have an overgrowth of bacteria or fungi in the morning that will cause an eye infection.

You need to use the storage solution recommended by your contact lens fitter.

You could; it shouldn't hurt them. But, there's better solutions out there than saline that clean, disinfect, and make wearing your lenses easier. Saline is kinda old-fashioned compared to these solutions.
