every number can be written as a product of primes
240 is 2^4*3*5
the number of factors is a multiplication of the powers (including the zero power since 1 is a common factor to all integers)
which makes the number of factors 5*2*2
to get the actual factors you can multiply out the combinations of the primes, i.e. 2,2*2,2*2*2,2*3..etc

Any whole number that 240 can be divided by to yield another whole number. There are quite a few.
