They do it all the time on the show Jail. Why do they put 2 drunks together if they know they might get into an altercation? Are they stupid or something?

The people who are stupid are the ones who get so drunk they have to be arrested.
It's called the Drunk Tank for a reason.
You don't put a drunk in the same cell as a sober person.
All some drunks want to do is fight.
If the Detention Officer sees it happening, the persons fighting get separated and additional Battery charges are filed.

I don't have any experience here. I bet the only have 1 or 2 holding cells. The probably have no choice but to put them in the same cell.

In my county we would run out of cells way before we ran out of drunks if everyone got their own cell.

It's not our fault they can't handle their alcohol.

where else are they gonna put them...lol i know a fair amount of people get thrown into the drunk tank on weekends usually, and their is probably too many of them to store lol.

Have you ever considered there isn't enough space/funding for seperate cells, and little flower bouquets, and petit air fresheners for all of them?

No, they're stupid for getting locked up. The police don't care if you fight and/or kill each other.

maybe its because no one else can stand a drunk except for another drunk..... if you have a problem with it dont bea a drunk plain and simple......................
