If the age of consent is 17, then unless they can prove that you were sexually involved with him before you turned 17, there is nothing they can do.
And from all the answers in here, it seems that a lot of people have forgotten what it's like to be 17.

I don't know what that last idiot was talking about, but the age of consent is 17, so there is nothing your parents can do about it. He will not go to jail or be charged, but be very careful and if you are actively engaging in sex, please use protection. Hey Chuck T Tardo read the link below. You should register on the big dummies list and not be allowed to answer a question until you tell the asker that you are dumb first. There is no way to prove they had sex when she was a minor unless one of them spills the beans. I doubt that will happen.

If the consent age is 17 years old in your state, there's really nothing your parents can do unless you were under 16 and sexually active and they found out. As long as you're of consentual age, you really shouldn't worry about it. The most they can do is threaten to cut you off from seeing him or to kick you out.

If age of consent is 17, then no crime has been committed unless they can somehow prove that you had a sexual relationship with him when you were 16.
Or you could try looking outside the trailer park for a relationship?
Ooo, i'm sorry, that's a low blow. I don't mean to give you ****. :)
Joshua P; you don't get it. Idiot. I'll try caps:
IF SHE WAS 16 WHEN THE RELATIONSHIP STARTED, THEN HE BROKE THE LAW IN MISSOURI.
That clear enough? The hard part is proving that they were sexually active at that point.

For those that aren't reading the entire question.........
She is 17 now. She has been with this guy for over a year. Thus making her 16 when they met.

at the moment nothing, but if your parents can prove that you were having sex when you were under the age of consent then they can have him charged with statutory rape and this brings a pediphile charge aswell...

If he started seeing you when you were 16, he is busted. It's not a relationship. It's a victim and a pedophile.
