just moved back into a high school with people that I knew back in 6th grade, and there is this guy i liked then, and like again now. He is very shy and quiet, and I am the polar opposite, but not to an extreme. Also, I barely know him, and we only have one class together. But he did remember me when I did talk to him. I want to talk to him more but I don't know what to say...cause it would be really awkward just going up to him to talk...Help please and thanks in advance!!!

What's so awkward about a simple, "Hello, you haven't changed a bit." Or even better, "Hi there Bob! Wow! You look so buff! You must have really worked out a lot since I last saw you!" More better. "I'm seeing somebody now (a little white lie) but I always had a crush on you. Want to get some coffee?" Sounds like this guy needs a good ego stroke. Do it right and he'll be following you around like a little puppy, wagging his tail and peeing on the carpet he'll be so glad to see you.

Simple, just say to him (when you are away from a crowd) exactly what you have written here.

If he is overly shy he might not even respond with the way that HE might want (i.e. with warmth) and may therefore appear a little cold to you.

See if you can do something together which might take the edge of his shyness and help him relax, something non threatening to him - even boring, like homework - yawn.

Take it easy and just get to know each other.

Remember, he would probably really like to know you but doesn't have the confidence to say anything.

If you find that you like him, don't be afraid to ask him out, he can only say yes.

I don't think it would be awkward. Just say hello and ask him how he's doing when there's nothing going on in your class together. As long as you don't act nervous or giddy, it will just seem like natural small talk. Then you can just let it progress from there.

As for conversational topics, always ask open-ended questions, never something that could simply be answered with yes or no.

As a guy, I think it is important to just ask him for his number (or give hi yours). Because he is shy, I would ask for his. Tell him you would love to catch up with him from the past few years and hear whats new, etc. After you talk to him a few times, you may take the initiative and ask him out to a movie or lunch or something. I was a shy guy in school and found out later that the girl I was too shy to ask out liked me too. Shy guys need to be asked out sometimes!

Hope it helps!

I think you should talk to him more, he'll get to know a lot about you and how your life is going. If you talk to he he'll accept you as a friend. Maybe he'll like you alot and you'll start dating.

People change from when they were in 6th grade.

shy people get a little uncomfortable when you jump in on a conversation so just have a little casual chat be yourself maybe if you REALLY like him drops little hints that will make him think later on,if your really nice to him he'll start to like you back

Okay, first of all, try to sit next to him in clasees. Then slowly, slowly, start talking to him, when you guys have got a retty smooth conversation, and you feel comfortable enough, ask him out!

ask him about what he has been doing during the years you guys have been away and ask him about what he says: like if he were to say soccer, ask him what team he played on, and who played on it and stuff like that! act like you care! though most likely we don't! make him feel good and he will like you! oh and when you become friends get his number and text him cuz that is really easy cuz you can think about what to do before you say it!
