All roads do indeed lead to God, since every person will one day face their Creator. Our reception at the end of the journey however, depends very much on which road we arrive upon.

This wasn't intended to be a theological dissertation by the President, so I wouldn't get all worked up by it. Is his answer wishy-washy? Yes. Is there still some truth, I'd say yes also. It is within the realm of possibility that God, in his infinite mercy, who reads the hearts of all men, could judge people on how they responded to God, even though their knowlege was imperfect, through no fault of their own. Bottom line, only God judges people, we can be assured that he will be just.

Anything that GWB utters MUST be suspect.
Fact: Religion is experiencing a severe downturn in Europe. No-one is interested. Religious Americans would be 'quite surprised' to see the empty churches being used as coffee shops, exhibition centres, social clubs, flea-markets, art galleries, etc, etc and many are even boarded-up and abandoned.
Why is the US so far behind?

Jesus said He had sheep that were not of this fold. While as a Christian we believe that all salvation is through Christ, who are we to limit God's ability to save mankind?

You're outraged. Great. So your literal interpretation of the Bible is the end all and be all of human spirituality. Fantastic. You know nothing. On the other hand, it would really make my day if the religious right in this country stopped supporting ol' Dubya because of his apostasy.

there are mindless automotons in Islam and Christianity that blindly listen to what their church wants them to think and know. there are also christians who realize the allegorical nature of the bible--and thus possibilities. Chalres Gibson seems to be one of those Christians who took his prefrontal lobe out of mothballs and used it. I'm outraged at what the fundamentalists are doing to christianity.
