A lot of agencies have been using Kawasaki 1000's for years, and they work out fine.
I personally would prefer a Harley.

The BMW's that are being ridden by the California HP and some of the local cops are sweet. The CHP totally p'd off Harley when they chose BMW. When an organization that large chooses function over fluff, you know BMW makes a quality product.

When I think police bikes, I think Harley. And the new ones are awesome.

However, anything with 4 cylinders will have much better acceleration. I guess it depends on the department.

I used to live in Denver, they had Kawasaki KZ1100's for the highway, and KZ440's for the city and for escorts. They worked just fine for them.

I love the new BMW dual purpose bikes that one of our officers just bought, it is designed very nicely and unlike the Harley can go off road if needed.

Are you kidding ,dont do them any justice? Any other bike is better then HD.Dont get me wrong iv had them in the past. But they lack the power, handling, and control of BMW, Kawazaki,Honda,e.t.c. Its alot easer to catch someone one the later bikes.
