Mass produced American beer is. These are your Pale Lagers and their Light or Lite variants.

If you're not in the US, you probably have no idea just how many breweries there are -- over 1300 microbreweries. The vast majority of these are producing excellent quality beers. This also doesn't include some of the more likely exported beers, like the Sam Adams -- those are craftbreweries and bigger than microbreweries.

All in all, I can go to the same liquor store every week for a year and not pick up the same 6 pack twice. I'm pretty happy about that, and of course having the expectation of good beer every time -- they deliver quality each time.

I agree the ONLY American beers worth mentioning are Sam Adams and some good microbrews

Depends. The big name beers are rather like that. But if you explore microbrews, you'll find a ton of great American beer.

Absolutely. The bad stuff reflects the 'close to water' part, while the good stuff is nearly as good as f*cking.
