Eric: Gore attended St. Albans School where he ranked 25th (of 51) in his senior class. In 1965, Gore enrolled at Harvard College. He scored in the lower fifth of the class for two years in a row[10] and switched majors and found a passion for government and graduated with honors from Harvard in June 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government. After returning from the military he took religious studies courses at Vanderbilt and then entered the university's law school. He left Vanderbilt without a degree to run for an open seat in Tennessee's 3rd Congressional District in 1976. Gore quit law school in March 1976 to run for the United States House of Representatives.
so apart from five years as a reporter for The Tennessean, he is a career politician.

Because he's a believer. This is also the reason why Newt Gingrich, Pat Roberson, the CEO of Wal-Mart, and a NASA Shuttle Pilot all know what they are talking about.
Dr. William Grey doesn't believe in global warming. This is the reason why he's discredited even though he's devoted his life to the study of the climate.
Just remember - If you believe, you're smart, you care, you are an expert. If you don't, then you were paid by big oil, you're foolish, and you have no idea what you're talking about.
So much for objective science, right?

Climatology and the carbon cycle are really easy topics to understand and even master. It wouldn't take a rocket science to figure out the main concepts in global warming.
Global warming has nothing to do with religion.(Posts above) It is based off testifiable theories also known as science. The difference between other past climate frenzies and now is that 99% of scientists believe in global warming(the word of my biology professor not mine), while none took notice of past climate surges.

Its called learning things after you graduate college. Plenty of people in this world have gone on to work in fields that were completely different from what they studied in college. Only a fool would treat their graduation from college as a time to stop learning new things.

Global warming has become a quasi-religious belief. Arguing the science or pointing out the facts to the converted is an exercise in futility.
Fortunately, these kinds of end-of-the-world fads come and go, but unfortunately they can cause a lot of misplaced anxiety and economic waste while they're in vogue.

What does his degree have to do with anything? I could care less about Al Gore but just because he doesnt have a degree in something does not mean he doesnt know anything about the subject.

If you want the most reliable information about global warming and climate change then refer to the many scientific publications that have been produced by the experts.
Gore, as you say, is merely repeating the words of others (and sometimes applying his own slant to them).

Why don't you try doing a little research on what Gore has done while at college and as a public servent. Then you might have an answer to your question.
