You are feeling hate and you pick up a guitar:

Is your motivation the hate? The hate alone makes you pick up the guitar?

or is wanting to express yourself, or the good feelings you will receive from playing guitar the motivation to pick up the guitar?

Please explain your reasoning.

(This is not my homework. I'm 22 and this is just a disagreement I had with my boyfriend. He said that hate can't be a motivation for christians. I just don't get it and he said most people would think like me. I would really like to know the opinion of others.)

Thanks answering. ;)

I want to know what the motivation is. If you think hate is the motivation, explain how it is the motivation....

I would guess that the guitar is a means of expressing emotion, good or bad. most people talk through there emotions, but people who have a hard time talking about it, express it creatively._ weather he is christian or not, he's human, and even religion has a hard time subduing those kinds of basic emotions.

there is nothing wrong with anger. it is an emotion that is driven by some other emotion which is worth finding out.
it is WHAT YOU DO with your anger/the behaviour you choose...that could potentially be 'wrong'.
i would say that picking up the guitar to play it, is an excellent way to get the emotions out in a safe and creative way.
i find that anger helps motivate me as well.
i am a Christian.
