For something like that your doctor may suggest you taking stool softeners. You may even have to have a colonoscopy just to be sure. Good luck to you. I know what you are going through.

if you are not always in a rush and forcing yourself to have a bowel movement as quickly as humanly possible then we can rule out bleeding hemorrhoids... however... if you are not in a rush and you are sitting there for extended periods of time reading one of your favorite periodicals then that could cause bleeding hemorrhoids also... if none of the above strikes a chord then I would visit my local ER soon, very, very soon~~~

Go to a GI doctor, get a colonoscopy. It could be serious. If it was hemerrhoids you'd be in a lot of pain - it could be a GI tract infection. Be sure to get it checked out - I know someone who had the same symptoms, he has some kind of condition that could become cancerous. If left unchecked, it could become serious.
