There is a 13 year old girl and a 14 year old boy. I am supplying them with a Christmas dinner, bathroom supplies, 3 outfits each, and some fun things (games/electrionics/toys/etc). I also am getting them each a subsription to a magazize. Can anyone give me ideas for all of this stuff?

TEENS: Please tell me where you buy your clothes. I don't want to buy them cheap clothes at Wal-Mart.

PARENTS: Talk to your kids and get back to me about it. If you are going to talk and e-mail me your answer later just post that please.

EVERYONE: Please post everything you come up with. If you forget something either edit or e-mail me from my profile.

Some people get very confused about "adopting" a family for the hoildays. It just means buying them gifts not literly adopting them!

Teen Beat, 17 magazine for the girl, and for the boy, maybe a car or wrestling magazine. Go to Walmart for the rest. They have the name-brand things a lot cheaper than most stores. They also (For the girl) have some of the same scents as Bath & Body works for more than 1/2 the price. Cologne for the boy. I would do a gift card for a place like FYI (I think that is the name of the music store)

I have a huge family and here is what I would go with...
For the 13-year-old girl: Hannah Montana stuff is all the rage these days. Seems to be quite a thrilling thing (Disney Channel girl). Also, they like American Eagle, Aeropostale, and Hollister (although that last one is hard to get a good deal) for clothing. Big stuff is hoodies, graphic-style tee shirts, low rise jeans with fade (but not too low!), and cute purses. For a mag, I would go with a teen one...maybe Teen People (less smutty). Toys are not so big in that age range...maybe go with some 'make-up' type stuff...body splash, lip gloss, light colors for the cheeks and nails (pedicure stuff, nice body wash). I would also look at some inexpensive jewelry (but maybe not earrings, as she may not have pierced ears). That can be really special.

For the 14-year-old boy: I would head toward American Eagle again for clothes. The big things are hoodies (again), polo shirts, graphic tees, and boxers with nutty things written on them. My 15-year-old brother likes the Axe and Adidas body washes and deoderants to smell nice too. For a magazine..it would depend on his interests (sports, cars, video games, dirt biking). Maybe something in the video game world. Check into the video game scene because that is all the rage in that age set with boys. You might be able to get a hand-held personal one for less than some of the more costly ones. I would also look at sports stuff. For the boy, I would aim more at one big ticket thing than lots of smaller ones.
And maybe get a family game for teens too. Like Monopoly, Boggle, or Scattergories...so they can play together. Phase Ten is a really fun card game too. Good luck...I love doing this. This year my family is 'young' but I have done teenagers before. Have fun with it.
