DM- You forgot Arizona.

They can add me to their little list.
I always consider the source.

DT- It's not wrong. When the Feds fail to take action then the states have to...and it works.

B. Kevorkian- So based on your logic no one should try because of the Appellate Court district they are in.

Arizona is also in the 9th Circuits jurisdiction. Looks like State regulation is working there.
And then there is always the SCOTUS remedy even if the 9th does their usual liberal misinterpretation of the laws.

It looks like they're trying. It seems wrong that states have to take these types of actions when it's a Federal Policy. But if feds won't step up I guess they don't have a choice.

oh it doesn't stop there. FROM THE ARTICLE; In recent months, Helm has advised citizen groups from Kansas, Nebraska, Montana, California, Alabama and New Jersey about immigration enforcement campaigns. Last week she was in Florida meeting with a congressional delegation. She also said anti-illegal-immigration efforts are also under way in South Carolina, North Carolina, Utah, Missouri and Tennessee. FULL ARTICLE ON THE LINK

Since you missed the news, and I happen to live in Oregon... Our Govenor has already changed the policies regarding illegals getting drivers licenses. They have to show proof of valid documents before the DMV's will issue them any drivers license.

Edit: biwaygirl, we have had ICE come through already and check on those sitting in our jails. I don't think they are there anymore to be honest. Because ICE rolled through here, and has remained here since this past summer.

Thanks for the link, Chuck. I find this particularly interesting. In anything I've read in the past, Oregon has been listed as a sanctuary state, or as having sanctuary cities. This is obviously an attempt to change that. I totally support states and cities doing what they have to in the absence of federal support, and I think this instance speaks even more loudly than in other states (ones that don't have sanctuary attitudes or policies).

How dramatic and earthshaking. An initiative to get the government to let only citizens vote, an only legal residents get IDs. Wow, what nation on earth has every done such a thing.

Anyway, Oregon is in juristiction of the 9th Circuit Court, the initiative, if it passes, will be struck down.

The crazy thing is that it shouldn't be a big legal debate as to whether we should defend our very country's borders and laws - why oh why do the pro-illegals have to turn it into Civil War II?

mORE POWER TO THEM!!!

WHY ON EARTH DO THEY LET THE ILLEGALS SIT IN THEIR JAILS? WHY NOT JSUT DEPROT THEM!

oNCE A MONTH TAKE A BUS AND FILL IT FULL OF THE ILLEGALS AND RETURN THEM TO THIER HOME COUNTRY

IT WOULD BE CHEAPER THAN SUPPORTING THEM INTHE JAIL!
