OVEN FRENCH FRIES
1 tbsp. oil
Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Peel potatoes and cut into long strips about 1/2 inch wide. Dry strips thoroughly on paper towels. Toss in a bowl with oil as if making a salad. When strips are thoroughly coated with the oil, spread them in a single layer on a cookie sheet and place in preheated oven for 35 minutes.
Turn strips periodically to brown on all sides. If a crispier, browner potato is desired, run under broiler for a minute or two. Sprinkle with salt before serving.
Makes 6 servings.

I bake mine at 400º for 30 minutes. I also make a mixture of onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, a little sugar, and black pepper. I place the potato slices in a bowl, place the other ingredients in another bowl. Spray the potato slices with Pam and then sprinkle the spuds with the mixture, stir, and sprinkle again - until I use it all up. Then I put the spuds on a wire mesh screen and set that on a cookie sheet. They come out nice on all sides and I don't have to turn them.
