Serve on large, crusty buns with a mustard based Carolina-style BBQ sauce. Garnish with dill pickle spears, thinly sliced raw onion and pickled pepperoncini (Italian banana peppers). Serve with crisp, homemade slaw. Carolinians would put the cole slaw on the pulled pork sandwiches..that's up to you.

A quick coleslaw. You can pick up pre-shredded coleslaw, next to the bag salad. Just add whatever type of dressing you like. That's how they serve it down South. If you want really fast, pick up a container already made at your local KFC

Cole slaw and roasted french fries. I generally buy my cole slaw at the deli counter, but you can get bags of it with the dressing near the precut salads in your produce section. Just taste for seasoning. I like to add some celery salt and pepper to this mix. It also makes a lot, that's why I buy.

For the french fries, again you can buy them in a bag. This is something that I prefer to make myself. Cut up baking potatoes into any shape you like. I like to make them fry shape, so my kid will eat them. She's a little bit picky. I toss them in a little olive oil, salt and pepper. Pop them in a 400 degree oven turning twice for about 1/2 hour.

I've tried to have wine with Southern food and it usually just doesn't work. Best to stick with beer or iced tea which are the traditional beverages that go with Southern food.
