Mice are unable to suffer from lactose intolerance, and in a very rare case that they do, of the mouse is unable to scavenge other food to sustain themselves, then the old adage in nature goes "survival of the fittest".

Most mice prefer peanut-butter to cheese. And if it is a pet then it should be eating mouse food. And this should be asked on the pet board maybe?

Actually, cheese is highly toxic to mice and rats, causing their system to overheat and the rodent to die.
It's only in cartoons that mice eat cheese.
