I was searching for a Krav Maga class in St.Catharines, ON. There are no classes. So I was hoping someone could tell me what would bring most of those skills in another martial art, like gun+knife disarming. If anyone knows please tell me :)

Dan.

It's not really the art or discipline you need to look for if this is your desired focus, but rather the instructor you learn from.

I have known people who provided "street wise" self-defense classes that were supposed to teach people defense against knife, firearm, baseball bat etc. that were useless and unskilled. I've also met traditional masters who focus primarily on the advancement of their art who will include knife or firearm self-defense as part of their class, who are outstanding.

Any martial arts instructor worth the weight of their belt will be able to incorporate such defensive concepts into their lesson plan, within the discipline they teach. Krav Maga is equally taught in many forms, with many diffrent levels of effectiveness, by many different instructors. Bottom line, it's not the art, it's the person teaching you the art.

Check in your area, go to the schools, talk with the intructor/s there and tell them what you are looking for and why. I'm sure you'll find your instructor by doing so.

Good luck

As to your question, Krav isn't really related to anything else, but lots of more defense oriented arts teach knife takeaways, which work really well for gun disarms.
