I am on the quest of searching for the perfect job. I have had 3 jobs this year and they all were good. I get paid good money but I am not the type to just sit around all day and do nothing at work. I like to stay busy. (As you can see, I don't do anything at work, that's why I'm here asking questions.)

Do you think I am lucky making good money to do nothing?

Yes and No.

Excellent question, by the way!

You're lucky to be in a job that gives you time to think about the types of tasks you really love to do.

Do you like talking with people?
Listening without thinking of something to say?
Organizing?
Beautifying?
Counting money?
Solving problems?
What kind? financial? interpersonal? marketing?

Use this time not only to think, but also to talk with people who know you and to write yourself some notes (or a diary/journal).

Usually we like the things we're good at. So there's a powerful chance the skills your friends say you're good at are also things you like.

If there's something in a job you don't like, there's a high probability you'll like it pretty well once you're good at it.

An example of combining those two principles would be working in an industry you love doing a job you hate. Get good at the job, like it more and be happier, then you'll be a good pick for promotions up the ranks.

Does this help?

From my experience more money equals less work. I know how you feel. I get restless too. See if there is things your colleagues or manager may need help with, sometimes work is not distributed appropriately.

Maybe you could use some initiative and find something to do at your current job?
