i want to restart window bc my computer is very slow and it freezes on me too much, and i have a bunch of inportant files that i dont want to lose, so how can i put them aside so they wont be erased while i reinstal( please dont tell me by putting them on cd or memory)
give me some other idea

u back them up somewhere ... u could try an online storage like dropboks ..

If you reinstall Windows, your hard drive will be reformatted, deleting all files in the process, as it should do. Why not just keep your current copy of Windows and take a few steps to speed up your computer? Like deleting old files you don't need anymore. Also, you could remove any programs you don't need anymore. The RAM (or lack of it) will cause it to run slow. You might look into adding more RAM too, if that's a option. There are many "tips & tricks" web pages out there to help with "tuning up your computer". Try the easy stuff first, and do only one change at a time, to make sure everything still works after restarting the computer. All of your important files should be backed up at some time Before the next disaster occurs, at least as much as you can, and Before making any major changes, just in case.

Make a new partition with magic partition and save the data on the new partition.

Ive redid my xp four times now and have never lost anything.They say backup but i don't.Up to you tho.
