what about all the other churches. I know people say that they are saved through the Church by Christ but how can they be if they have not received the sacraments or a least been to confession.

I know lots of people in Evangelical churches and apart from a few "crazies" (maybe more than a few) they are all God loving people.

I also find the services more involving, better music etc, I supose I am just trying to turn worship into a concert.

Also how come non-catholics who are following christ have so much trust in pastors and denominations that have been around 50 years. I know its bible based but the Catholics put the thing together.

i am confused!!!

Yes, Jesus started a human organization that he called the Church (Matt. 16:18). He appointed a leader (Simon Peter) and apostles, giving them authority to "bind and loose," so that their decisions would be honored in heaven. He also promised divine protection so that the gates of hell would not prevail against his organization.

Any claim of a modern religious organization to be the Church can be adjudicated by historical methods. Both the Catholic and the Orthodox churches can point to an unbroken line of apostolic succession going back to 30 AD, including human leaders and documentation.

In contrast, the 30,000 other Christian organizations--I can't call them churches--were established within the last 500 years. The impetus for this shattering of Christian unity is the sola-scriptura dictum of Martin Luther, that only scripture can tell us about faith and morality, not the Church that wrote and authorized the scriptures.

This means anyone can make the scriptures mean anything he wants. Given the many organizations that think God wants people to kill off their children and practice sodomy, it should be pretty clear this approach is not what God ordained.

Some of the man-made organizations are trying to make Jesus Lord. Some are earnestly trying to live according to his teachings. I respect these organizations as allies of the one Church he established.

Cheers,
Bruce

Yes it is true but some of them were not really Jews but naturalized or converted Jews and Roman influenced Jews. The original group were dispersed because they were hunted, haunted and persecuted. Paul was still convincingly acting as Roman spy for the original group to come out in the open. Persecution was still going on but the movement kept growing at an alarming rate and the wise Constantine schemed a fake miracles like Paul making him decide to create Christianity as the official religion of the Empire. Injecting their own version after picking up some basic teachings from the Old Testament to make their new claim credible, caused the original Christ followers still strictly following Jewish Traditions to break away and this time The New Roman Christians started pursuing and persecuting all the Jews whether Christ believers or not.. The original Messianic Jews did not believe Jesus as the anointed One since he broke one of the most important sign between them and God and that was the Sabbath Day of Rest worsened by the idea of injecting the Trinity theory. If ever there is Messianic Jew right now that believe on Jesus as the Christ, there is possibility that it is another ploy of the Romans to really divide the original Jewish faith and their way of life called Judaism.

Most Protestants do not know the history of the Bible or of their own religion. They do not know that there was no Bible before the 4th century when Catholics decided which religious works were to be considered the Holy Word of God and which were not. They do not realize that the Catholic Bible has remained unchanged since the Council of Rome in the fourth century. They do not know that the Protestant Bible dropped several books from the Bible. They do not know that there are lots of translations errors.

They will deny that the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus -- but there it is -- right in the Bible where Jesus made Peter the earthly head on Earth.

I can't be a Catholic any more (I am an agnostic). But I could never be a member of any different Christian sect. They are all created by men and based on heresy.

Certainly those churches outside the Catholic Church do not have the fullness of the truth regarding faith and practice. The question might be asked, how much truth must be accepted to be saved? That is a question only God can and will answer at judgment.

Catholics believe that there will be others besides those who acknowledge that Christ's Church is the one, true Church that will be saved. We do not know who those may be but we do know that they will be saved through His Church, the Catholic Church because His Church is the door to salvation through which all must pass.

I couldn´t tell you who is saved who is not, but I do know one thing, from the visions of a nun called St. Faustina, first saint of the 21st century:

"I am mercy and compassion itself.... All things came about from the debths of My most tender mercy. All souls in relation to Me will contemplate My infinite mercy throughout eternity..... My mercy is so great that no mind, be it man or angel will be able to fanthom it throughout all eternity."

I was born a catholic but I am now a non denominational Christian.

Where in the bible does it say Jesus started a catholic church? It doesn't. He started a church based on his word.

Catholics have changed verses and added books that are not scripture, like Maccabees. A classic verse that was changed is Matthew 6:7 where Jesus says do not pray in vain repetitions. They changed it to speak not much, which is changing the words of Jesus and saying not to speak much in prayer!. This is against what Jesus said. Isn't a rosary vain repetitions???? Jesus wants you to speak to God. He wouldn't say speak not much. This is so wrong and there's more but you need to read the real bible to find out.

Try the King James Bible, it's the truth!!

Jesus was a Jew always have always will be. Christianity came after him. People have their own spin on things. I don't think one denom. is better or worse until the deviate from the teachings. Catholics were the first then other christians separated. Martin Luther and the protestant reformation...

You're saved by Christ and by accepting him. The chruch is there so you can hear the word. Just going to church or being baptized doesn't save you. You have to accept Jesus into your heart. It says so in the Bible. John 14 6

Catholics are closer to Jesus's teachings than any other church.

Jesus didn't start any church in particular. He encouraged his followers to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19,20). The differrent denominations, including the Catholic church, came along much later, although since the word "catholic" actually means universal, in a sense Jesus was the founder of a catholic church rather than the Roman Catholic church.
