1st - there is no such thing as a "teacup" Chihuahua.. only larger and smaller Chi's. These so-called "teacups" are basically the runt of a litter.

2nd - For cost, anything more than what your local shelter would charge for an adoption, would be more than than anyone would be willing to pay.

The pup's are not papered, and thus are not true Chihuahua's.

Although such terms as "teacup," "pocket size," "tiny toy," "miniature," and "standard" have been used to describe different-sized Chihuahuas, the Chihuahua Club of America issued a statement stressing that these descriptions are misleading. Their statement reads:

"Unfortunately, the additional adjectives used to describe the size differences and physical appearances are many and have been misused for so long they now seem legitimate. Teacup, Pocket Size, Tiny Toy, Miniature or Standard - are just a few of the many tags and labels that have been attached to this breed over the years. The Chihuahua Club of America is concerned that these terms may be used to entice prospective buyers into thinking that puppies described in this way are of greater monetary value. They are not and the use of these terms is incorrect and misleading."

As such, the Chihuahua Club of America and the American Kennel Club only recognizes two types of Chihuahuas - the Long-haired and the Short-haired Chihuahua.

First don't fall for the tea-cup thing chihuahuas are of the toy breed they are the smooth (SHORT)Coat and the long coat you can check with the AKC to see that I'm right TEA-Cup is just a nick name for the runt of the litter they will be under 2 lbs live a life of maybe 2 years if you pay a lot of vet bills Chihuahuas under 3 lbs have sugar drops if it drops and you can't get it back up fast they will die a very sad death but as for a chihuahua with no papers they go for under $200.00 but you can get a full AKC reg chihuahua from a breeder for about $400.00

However much it costs to get one from the local shelter.

There is no such thing as a 'teacup' Chihuahua. There are only two varieties of Chihuahua, long haired and short haired. They all conform to the SAME standard, including height and weight.

A dog with no papers is the same thing as a mutt. There is no guarantee that it is 'pure bred' anything. Even with papers, you don't always get what you're paying for.

Run! Step away from the puppy. I won't touch on the teacup thingy...others will get that. But I read nothing but "RED FLAG!"
Do your breed research and find out what a reputable breeder is. Google the chihuahua club of america.

A teacup is a term that generators and BYBs made up so as that they might sell the undesirable runts of the muddle for a greater suitable value. there is not any such situation as a teacup, it particularly is in easy terms a fancy call for a runt. till now those fancy words have been made up in an attempt to advance earnings, those runts have been frequently given away for unfastened or offered at a discounted value by way of fact knowledgeable customers did no longer choose an undesirable canines. Now that's a thank you to be waiting to in high-quality condition those undesirable canines into your handbag. they incorporate an excellent style of well-being matters, in simple terms as a untimely infant or a infant with a low beginning weight might. consequently, i does no longer pay something for a teacup chihuahua. If there ever got here a time in my existence the place i desperate i choose a chi, i might circulate to a take care of to undertake one. There are (regrettably!) multiple chihuahuas in shelters and in rescue by way of fact they're so "renowned" and grossly overbred. i might pay a actual looking adoption fee to the take care of or rescue and experience sturdy understanding that no longer in easy terms did I shop a existence (even adopting from a no kill take care of is saving a existence by way of fact it opens up a gap for yet another canines who could in any different case have ended up at a kill take care of) however the money I pay circulate in direction of saving different homeless and thrown away pets.
