Good question:
Hard Working and Self Supportive
Loves their family and children if they have them
Like to be moderate in all things (not obsessed or addicted to anything)
Integrity....doesn't lie, steal, cheat.
Likes to help people and expects nothing in return.
Why?
I don't know because when there is good in the world it gives one reason to hope.

I admire dignity, calmness, gracefulness, poise, self-discipline ... because I completely don't have any of those qualities, LOL. I think it is not in my nature to be like that.
Gee it would be nice to feel self-assured in social interaction, and to go home without looking back and feeling embarrassed about myself... Oh well, I guess everyone needs a bit of comic relief ;-) (and I've been told that I make people feel comfortable and at ease).
P.S. Saying that I admire these traits doesn't mean that I believe that are the most important. I admire the aspects of perfection that I feel most unable to reach. But I really think that honesty, moral integrity and active benevolence are the most important attributes.
EDIT again: I did have "open-mindedness" as one of those "most important traits", but honestly, I don't think that it is as important as the others. Some very good people I know are not open-minded. That said, open-minded people (and open-hearted people) can really add to my understanding of the world! They're very interesting!

Honesty above all,,,,I need to know I can trust my friends.
Sense of humor....Lord knows we must endure a lot of ridiculous things in this life....learning to roll with the punches and laugh at life's absurdities,,,,is essential in my Friends. One of the reasons, I love my DH, because he is a loyal and kind person and has a great sense of humor...it has carried us through many bad times when it was easier to laugh at the circumstance than cry about it...even bad times move on.
Kindness....that is a trait I admire more than I can say. There are really many kind people, but too many get bogged down in their own problems and forget to show it,,,I know they hollow at their kids, or are rude in grocery stores...but inside,,,they are kind, We all try to cram too much into our lives,,,most of it doesn't even bring happiness. We should simplify our lives..then we would have time to be kind to one another.

Honesty--I hate liars.
Intelligence--stupid people are the scourge of humanity.
Diligence--diligent people are always successful in everything they do.
Respect for others and themselves--I can't respect someone who doesn't respect me or themselves.
A mild temperament--because I don't have one.
Tolerance--because tolerant people accept you for who you are, not who they want you to be.
Open-mindedness--because ignorance is not bliss. Open-minded people are able to think "outside the box."

TRUSTWORTHINESS
JUSTICE
GENEROSITY
I can't stand liars and hypocrits and I sure see a lot of them anymore. They cause pain to people.
honesty keeps your conscience clear
kindness fills your heart with love
sensitivity makes your heart grow with compassion and you can then hold and share more love
trustworthiness means that others can rely on you
justice means you're fair and impartial and you believe in doing what is right
generosity means that you're not greedy and you appreciate and share your blessings

Open-mindedness and intelligence. I like a person who's willing to open themselves to new ideas, and smart enough to look for their own answers instead of having everything handed to them.
