I am looking to buy the best pan and I want a teflon. What is the best pan. I don't want to spend the money for an All Clad but what is the second best.

I've found "Wearever" to be very good. I'm a Vegan and cook lots of grains. I also avoid all oils and fats. I depend on a good non-stick pan. I've gone through several sets and the "Wearever" has held up the best. The brand is moderately priced, available at big retailers like WalMart and almost indestructible. You can find a whole set on sell if you look and get the whole set for under $60. Just watch the ads.

if you cook a lot, all clad is the way to go. they are completely worth the investment. Teflon is actually not a great thing. you have to really watch your heat when you cook with teflon as it can produce toxic gas if you cook too high of a temperature. mom and brother both have calphalon and the thought they were OK. Circulon is pretty good. my wok with teflon/ridges works great for stir fry.

also, don't buy any of those fancy sets. Most people do not use all the pans. Buy better quality of the pans you for sure will use. it will save you money in the long run.

try looking at the discount website attached. they have decent prices.

I have a Circulon pan that's great for non-stick frying/sauteing. Most of mine are All Clad, and I actually prefer using teflon for some things.

Good luck!

With all the controversy about Teflon I won't use it. Scanpan makes a line of Titanium infused cookware that i use with good results. There are few brands of cookware that approach the performance of All-Clad. Buy them one at a time , the ones you use the most first.

I bought the hard anodized Calahphone(however spelt) from Target. Love to use them just be careful not to scratch them.

Also, if you invest money in a good set be sure and not to stack them inside each other or use anything by nylon utensils.
